Summertime FUN

Summer break is just about over, but we have had a lot of fun! Alex swam for the local swim team, the Pataskala Porpoises! He earned eight ribbons, including two first place finishes! Not bad for his first season of swim and considering that he had to hold onto the lane ropes to make it across the pool in the fist weeks of practice. He swam freestyle, backstroke and freestyle relay.

Swimming freestyle at his first swim meet!

After using his balance bike all spring, Tyler got on his two-wheeled bike (without training wheels) and took off with very little help! We were shocked and expecting him to take a big spill eventually. He rode around the block about ten times without any trouble at all. We decided to pack up and go to a local bike trail for a true test. We made it about 5 1/2 miles before Tyler got tired. He loves riding his bike now and we are very proud of him!

First ride around the block!

Alex also went to Roundlake Camp the first part of July. It is a one-day church camp, similar to Vacation Bible School. He went with several friends from his church and had a blast.

We watched fireworks in New Albany again, this time with a few other friends! This is always my favorite time of year. I don't know why. We also took Alex to see his first concert in July!
